This series would be wasted with a pg13 rating. The books are R rated. No sex or nudity but some of the deaths, or frankly all of them, are very gory. Not sure how these passed as kids books, apart from the lack of sexual content and swearing.

I really wish it was animated by a Japanese studio. I remember when I first read it in Highschool back in 2019. My teacher picked it out for me to read since she didn’t have any manga. I always imagined what a hell of anime with the right studio this could of been amazing adaptation.
